Areal Report of Mapped Information:
Areas are calculated as a total for each category within the selected raster map(s). A report on "Counties" would give the total area for each county. A report on "Counties" against "Wetlands to 16 Categories" would show how much of each wetland type occurs in each county.

Set to area of selected maps
Spearfish default
NOTE
: Your selected region setting is very important for Areal Reports. This is for two reasons: 1) the larger the region setting, the longer the process takes; and 2) the report analysis will be clipped to the selected GRASS region. For example, if you were to do "Counties" against "Wetlands" with a region setting of "Marin County", your area totals would be restricted to the predefined Marin County region box (which would include all of Marin and some of the surrounding counties).
Input a Raster Grid Resolution Setting between 10 and 1000:
Meters per Cell.
NOTE:
A coarse resolution will increase the speed of the reporting process but decrease the accuracy. But we suggest you only refine as needed. The finest resolution setting would be that of the original raster map(s). See the appropriate metadata record for this value.
