The Colorado potato beetle, Leptinotarsa decemlineata (Say)(Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae), is one of the most widespread and destructive potato pests in the world. The adult pictured here is about 12 mm long and 6 mm wide. Larvae are about the same size. Economic damage caused by this pest is most important in potato, but is also significant in tomato, egg plant and other solanaceous crops.
